Kickstart Your Journey: A Beginner's Guide to a Healthier You!

Updated: Dec 19, 2023

My health and wellness tips to finish the year out strong and start the year feeling like a healthier you!

I am super excited to announce that after months of work and years of research, I have my first educational digital product to offer! After years of unanswered questions and feeling terrible, I took charge of feeling better. I had to take my health into my own hands and it is now my mission to inspire other women to do the same and feel their best. I wrote 'A Beginners Guide to a Healthier You' to help anyone who wants to better understand what your body needs, how to manage stress, and avoid toxic chemicals in your food and household products.

It's time to say NO MORE to unwanted feelings of fatigue, joint pain, brain fog and more! And say YES to a healthier YOU.

I focus on incorporating a variety whole foods and avoiding what makes me feel crummy. I am always hunting for healthier alternatives or simple swaps so I don't have to give up eating the dishes I love in my pursuit of wellness.

A Beginners Guide to Healthier You!

Drumroll, please... My very first educational digital product is complete and ready for YOU. This idea originated as a distant dream years ago. I'd have sporadic moments of wanting to dive deeper into this passion, but the fear of failure held me back each time. One perk of aging has been gaining the confidence to just go for it. My boys, particularly my oldest son Huck, have been tremendous inspirations. Huck, with his big heart and dreams, consistently cheers me on. Unfazed by the fear of failure, he embraces criticism to improve himself, urging me to do the same. Ah, the innocence of a 10-year-old, right?!

All of this led me to reflect on how right he is. If we let the fear of failure hinder us from pursuing new goals, we'd never accomplish anything. While leaping into the unknown is scary for me, I am driven by my passion. Many are still uneducated about the crucial role nutrition and lifestyle factors play in our health and longevity. I want to play a small part in educating and inspiring others to choose a healthier path.

This new venture is an avenue I'm exploring to genuinely help others with my passion and support my family. Entering our second year of homeschooling has presented different challenges, but it's a path I hope God allows us to continue until my boys reach high school. With that in mind, I began seeking opportunities that I could pursue from home to maintain our homeschooling journey and contribute to my household. That's when this guide and new business venture officially evolved from a mere thought and hobby into a new career path.

The gratitude that has filled my heart over the last few weeks with your sweet comments and encouragement on this new path has kept me going when doubt creeps in. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You for being here in this space!

If you choose to purchase this guide, I sincerely hope it is a next step to a healthier you.

Simple Swaps

Finding convenient on-the-go snacks can be a challenge! This past fall, when our schedules kept us constantly moving, beef sticks proved to be a lifesaver. They're a staple in our pantry and a healthier alternative to the well-known Slim Jim. Unfortunately, Slim Jims are packed with unhealthy ingredients such as saturated fats, corn syrup, and nitrates. When I uncovered this, I realized the need to find a substitute, given that they were a regular snack for all of us.

I've found three brands that we favor, each filled with ingredients designed to fuel your body. These snacks are a permanent fixture in our bag for activities like ball games, road trips, lake days, hiking, and essentially any situation where we'll be away for several hours. You can find a clickable Amazon link (here) for all three preferred brands below. Additionally, some stores, including Walmart and Trader Joe's, carry them.

Recipe of the Week:

Cozy Beef & Mushroom

The recipe I'm sharing is a cleaner version of one of my favorite meals my mom makes. I don't think we have an official name for it, so I'm deeming it as Cozy Beef & Mushroom. The biggest change is my recipe has no canned soups. I combined some amazing ingredients to take the place of the well known soups we grew up using that doesn't have the best ingredient list. It was so creamy and full of flavor! I served it over mashed potatoes with a serving of brussels sprouts.

Until Next Time,

As the holidays start to kick into full swing I am focusing on managing my stress and enjoying this time with my family. I am so happy to share my insights on holistic health, stress management, the value of nutritional food and so much more in my digital guide 'A Beginners Guide to a Healthier You'.
